Baby and Beyond Support Group

We see our role as supporting the women, children and partners who are adversely affected by some form of antenatal or postnatal mood or anxiety disorder. We also assist those struggling to meet the emotional demands of parenting babies and small children in this challenging role.

At Kirribilli we provide access to a professionally facilitated support group. These occur each week of the school term on a Friday 10-12pm. The support group is designed to help foster a sense of mental and emotional well-being amongst those attending. For group dates 2010 please click here.

The group takes registrations online. Once the group commences it is then closed, meaning that no new members can join. Attending a closed group can often add to the feeling of safety and security which is an essential part of the group experience. Please make sure you register as places are strictly limited.

Groups costs $500, this includes two hours of professional facilitation by Melissa Hughes and Perinatal Psychiatrist Dr Sasha Campbell, pre group assessment and post group follow up plus two hours of childcare for each week of a ten week term. If the costs are preventing you attending the group, concessions are available in consultation with Melissa Hughes.

The Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre is equipped with toys and a play area for non school age children and we welcome them to come along. We also have qualified childcare workers to coordinate activities for the children each week, who are sponsored in part by The Gidget Foundation. There is an onsite community cafe for refreshments and the venue provides a warm atmosphere to establish a supportive ongoing network of peers.

We very much invite anyone struggling with the day to day realities of being a Mum to come along. Sometimes our new role as a parent can be disconcerting and disorientating.

We look forward to welcoming you,

The Team at Baby and Beyond
